Stockholm Bromma ( BMA- ESSB )
Sweden's second largest airport in terms of traffic is in Bromma, 10km west of Stockholm, the capital of the country. This airport was the main one until the sixties when the majority of the flights were moved to Arlanda following the noise nuisances and the lack of place for the development. By the proximity of the airport of the city center, was maintained a civil aviation activity mainly regional and business. The very old tiny terminal is classified as heritage but will only be used until 2020 as the definitive closure of the airport is already scheduled. This terminal is located to the east of a runway oriented 30-12 of only 1668 meters. Traffic, the majority of domestic flights are operated by Braathens Regional through the fleet of ATR72, Arvo RJ and Saab 2000. The other domestic daily flights are operated by Next Jet and Amapola Flyg. Only a few daily international flights come and depart from Bromma: Brussels via Brussels Airlines, Norra (Finnair) to Helsinki and Sunair (British Airways) to Denmark. Many commercial flights are observed every day with private jets. There is no freight or military activity recorded at BMA.

Knowing the photographic potential of Stockholm Bromma, we decided to organize a short trip on this terrain in order to link spotting and discover the huge Swedish capital. We had to organize our trip very early to be able to benefit from affordable rates. It must be said that these flights from Belgium are mainly coveted by a business clientele and the price quickly reaches a level that dissipates any reverie of modest spotters that we are. In order to hope for spring temperatures and acceptable light, we left Brussels on flight SN2303 on Monday, May 8, 2017. We also chose this flight to enjoy, certainly a last time, the experience on board a aircraft Of the Arvo RJ100 type, the Belgian company replacing these aircraft by newer ones. So we boarded the OO-DWE for 2 hours cruise above the clouds. During our 3 days spent on the spot, we alternated moments of photographs and tourist visits to the rhythm of the snow and snowfalls despite the advanced spring! With steady northerly winds and near zero temperatures, the hours spent on the rocks overlooking the trail have not been easy. But the effort was rewarded by the beauty of the site despite low and repetitive traffic. Warmly I hope for you, discover the result of our Swedish harvest to the weather capricious.
