Rio Santos Dumont (SBRJ – SDU)
Located in the heart of the city of Rio, east of the city, the Santos Dumont Airport is named dedicated to a great Brazilian aviation pioneer inventor of the early 20th century. This airport has the distinction of having two very short pises 1300m where depart and arrive number of domestic flights operated by Gol Airlines, TAM, Azul, Trip and Avianca. The only planes allowed to serve this area are the A318, A319, Embraer, ATR and B737 "high performance" with special operations and loading restrictions, passengers and fuel. Planes take off full throttle and use the maximum possible braking power to achieve the performance demanded by the local geography. The airport consists of a terminal located at the western two parallel tracks, the 02L-20R is used for small aircraft, 02R-20L generally welcomes all traffic. Domestic flights operated from Rio Santos Dumont are usually intended for business customers, and many private and some military aircraft are routinely observed jets. The airport is built on the open sea, a road providing access to the military base through the single track, and a barrier to prevent cars cross the approach or departure of an aircraft. Finally, while international traffic is operated from the other Rio airport located west of the city.

Enjoying a trip to Sao Paulo, I took an Trip airline flight in Embraer 190 to join Rio, and I specifically chose the Santos Dumont Airport for its unusual approaches, and I have to say on the track so that the braking acceleration is high in excitement! Unfortunately, although winter is the dry season, I was accompanied during my two days of rain for my visit to the metropolis, but fortunately my time spotting along the track has seen the emergence of some sunshine , allowing me pictures at high contrast I propose you to discover below.
